Like many Americans, I was saddened by the tragic death of George Floyd in Minneapolis on Memorial Day, 2020 and the violent protests that occurred all across our nation as a result of that incident.
I have a passion for policing. I have a passion for good, ethical, and professional policing. When an incident takes place that tarnishes the badge that I so proudly wore for 30 years, I am outraged. I am not anti-police. I am anti-bad police. Not every police officer is guilty of using police brutality.
The purpose of the blog is not to rant and rave or complain about the existence of police brutality. I would like to think we can all agree that police brutality is never acceptable, no matter the outcome of its’ application. If your comments do not add to the discussion, they will be removed.
How do we end incidents of police brutality? What are your thoughts, opinions, perspectives?
